Project CMMOC

The acronym CMMOC stands for Centro Multi-Misión de Operaciones Científicas in Spanish (Multi-Mission Scientific Operation Centre).

The CMMOC is a system to allow the operation of scientific payloads, both on ground and on-board a satellite.

The CMMOC concept is designed to perform the following tasks related to the operation of scientific instruments:

• Payload operation planning

• Instrument Supervision (and control)

• Scientific data processing, reconstruction of auxiliary data

• Data storage, distribution and archiving

The system is based on the usage of Web/Internet technologies for the ground segment operation, according to the defined security levels and constraints. It has end-to-end test bench capabilities for new functionalities and scientific payloads operation modes, especially in the aspects of on-board autonomy and user’s remote access.
